Basket Making & Handicrafts Workshop
Basket Making & Handicrafts Workshop - Saturday 21 November 10am @ The Self Seed Studio, Lennox Head - register interest here.
$30 + $10 for materials (includes hand harvested weed vine Ipomoea cairica (coastal morning glory), dehydrated orange slices, jute etc)
Work with your hands to create beautiful, simple works of art and creativity. I love keeping age-old traditions alive through sharing skills and handicrafts. Creating like this provides an alternative to plastic party decorations and home decor and returns us to a place of connection. Share a tea and get crafty. All materials supplied.
Create using the vine of the Ipomoea cairica (coastal morning glory), known as a rampant weed. You'll learn how to identify it, harvest safely, prepare for weaving and some weaving techniques and inspirational knowledge to design your own.
Book a place at the Workshop - here.
Handicrafts Workshops & Demonstrations
Would you like to book Self Seed for a handicrafts demonstration or workshop? Workshops can be 1-3 hours and cover a range of handicraft skills including basketry, macrame and citrus garland creation. For a corporate and workplace team-building exercise, the workshop informally brings participants together while connecting them with the local land and environment and age-old crafts. Encourages story-telling and sharing.
View the Self Seed Demonstrations at the Festival of Forgotten Skills, North Coast National Show, Lismore, Saturday 24 October 2014. More info.
